There is growing interest in so called alternative investments , which could be defined as investing in items other than the traditional long term investments of stocks and shares, cash or property. Popular alternative investments include stamps, fine wines, antiques and art. Like other investments, the long term aim is to sell the investment for more money than its original purchase price.
